#InConversation with SuperFoodLx

#BGFCommunity is our new spotlight series featuring brands and businesses led by Black women and non-binary people.

This month, we meet Cherry and Paula Francis, founders of SuperFoodLx — a nutrient-dense vegan haircare brand, formulated by a Nurse & Nutritionist to help women’s hair heal strengthen and grow. Our brand is family-owned and has several real photographic testimonies documenting hair growth from 7 weeks to 1-year progress.

Cherry and Paula shares more about their experience starting a business, becoming a vendor at Black Girl Festival and their plans for growing the business.

Why did you want to be a part of Black Girl Festival?

Because we are black girls!

How was being a vendor at the festival?

I say this to my mum each year and my other black female business owner friends that Black Girl Festival is not only the most beneficial for us, but it also has the most sincerely supportive, chill, friendly and community vibe out of all the shows that we participate in.

What was it like being surrounded by other businesses owned by Black British women?

Amazing! It’s just a shame that we don’t have more time to speak to more vendors as we are always so busy

What does community mean to you?

Community means friendship and in friendship there is strength and in strength, there is a success.
